Welcome to The Octopus’s Garden
Proudly serving Ocean County for over four decades, The Octopus’s Garden has been pleasing the palates of seafood lovers since 1977. Originally located on Long Beach Island, The Octopus’s Garden moved to it’s new location in 2006, a beautiful “built from scratch” green building, located on route 9 south on the mainland.
In addition to a large and diverse choice of hand selected seasonal foods, guests will also enjoy the chefs rotating menu of simply prepared fresh fish from around the world! Whether you enjoy a soft, buttery fillet of fish such as Halibut, or prefer a firmer fish like Amberjack or Hawaiian Wahoo, you will always find something out of the ordinary. The menu changes EVERY night, and freshness is a top priority. The core menu changes slightly throughout the week as well to keep things fresh and interesting. The healthy approach to cooking includes fresh herbs and light broths instead of heavy creams or butters. The finest of ingredients are used to prepare your meal and the chef is happy to accommodate any special dietary needs.
Each week night is designated as its own “Special Night”. Monday is Shrimp and Crab Night, Tuesday and Wednesday are Fresh Fish Nights,, and Thursday and Friday are Lobster Nights. On Saturday appetizers are half priced from 4:30pm until 5:15pm and on Sunday night, half priced appetizers and desserts are offered all night long (with the purchase of an entrée)! For guests who are landlubbers, The Octopus’s Garden offers a wide selection of alternatives such as Rack of Lamb, Roast Duck, Chicken, Steaks and Pastas. A Children’s menu is available that has been kid tested and approved, so by all means bring the little ones along!
In the last ten years, the demand for fine dining Vegetarian and Vegan food has grown. That demand has been met with a ten entree Vegetarian/Vegan menu, as well as a number of appetizers to start with. There are a variety of Tofu entrees to choose from including the ever popular Coconut Tofu with a plum mustard sauce. Gluten free diners will enjoy being able to order from over 70 percent of the menu.
Save room for Dessert! All desserts are childhood inspired and made in house! Many have become cult favorites among loyal guests. Simple ”back to basics” cakes and pies are most popular, and are all made from old family recipes. There is a small wine list serving local New Jersey wines from The Sharrot Winery in Winslow, New Jersey. The list consists of both full and half bottles, but you are welcome to bring your own wine or beer if you prefer!
